मार्क - इस समय वाराणसी में मौसम कैसा होता है ?

सलीम - आजकल बहुत ज़्यादा गरमी होती है ।

तारा - इस से लोगों को बहुत तकलीफ़ होती है?

सलीम - हाँ, किसी हद तक, दिन में मुश्किल है लेकिन रात को कुछ राहत होती है।

मार्क - भारत में तापमान कितने तक होता है?

सलीम - गरमी में चालीस से ऊपर होता है, कभी-कभी सैंतालीस तक होता है।


Mark - What is the weather like in Varanasi now?

Salim - Nowadays there is far too much heat.

Tara - Are people very troubled by that?

Salim - Yes, to some extent, it's difficult in the day but there is some relief at night.

Mark - What temperature does it go up to in India?

Salim - In the summer it goes above fourty, sometimes up to forty-seven.

Notes: statements about lasting validity

To express the idea that a statement concerns something of lasting validity the verb होना can be used in an imperfective form. For instance:

This construction can also be used with the continuous tenses.

The sense with continuous tenses would be to emphasise a gradual change over time taking place.
