Hindi is a major world language which is spoken by over five hundred and fifty million people in India and around the world. Through learning Hindi you can engage with all types of people in India and gain access to a vast cultural heritage with ancient roots and extensive literatures which have developed over the last millenia and enjoy access to contemporary Hindi literature, music, film and broadcast media.
These are materials which are currently under development to support first year Hindi studies. They include text, audio, and video materials. To make learning Hindi an accessible activity for non-Hindi speakers I have included a large number of video clips, cartoons and pictures which I have made over the years and recordings made with Hindi speakers so you can listen to Hindi spoken by a range of Hindi speakers.
