Commissioner Inspects Preparations for Buddhist Festival and Kakacakra Puja Gaya, 26 November (Dainik Jagran). District Commissioner Hemcand Sirohi today inspected the proposed Buddhist Festival and Kalacakra Puja's administrative arrangements. In the inspectation meeting were the District Magistrate Brajesh Mehrotra, Police Superintendent Ravindran Shankaran and other high officials.
Mr Sirohi said that due to the inclusion of the Mahabodhi temple in the World Heritage list and the arrival on the map of international airports of Gaya that a considerable increase in tourists was possible. He said that in view of the experience of the organisation of previous Buddhist Festivals and Kalacakra Pujas better arrangements were essential. He said that tourists coming to Bodhgaya will be provided with the conveniences of electricity, water, security and other facilities. The administration was completely prompt. [?]
It is noteable that in the new year from the 11th to the 12th is the Buddhist Festival and from the 11th to the 19th the Kalacakra Puja. The Tibetan religious leader the Dalai Lama will come to Bodhgaya to take part in the Kalacakra Puja.
