Administration Demolishes Congress Office Under Construction
Bodhgaya, 3 May. The Building being constructed for the District Congress Block Office was demolished by the local administration. Along with this a ban was put on further construction. Last year the foundation stone for this building was laid by the 20 point program minister for Gaya District Ashok Kumar Chaudri. The office was being constructed on a war footing (very rapidly?) by the district Congress Party. Local Congress figures are agitated by this unexpected development and are consulting with their party members over what steps to take.
It is known that in this same spot before a kuccha building was standing in which the Congress Committee met with the approval of the Bodhgaya Math (monastery). The building fell down a few years ago and the site became a matter of dispute for the monastery and the Block Administration. According to the Block Officer Ravi Bhushan the said building was being constructed on Government Land.
